Children's Ministry
Christmas Is Coming
Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than to see a child smile.
This year I would like for the church to donate a toy for the children's Church to send to the Baptist Home for Children.
We will also be planing a party for our own kids here at Highland.
We will need lots of things for the kids.

None of this will not be possible with out your help.
If you can not buy something to help then you can give your time or a small monetary donation. There are envelopes for the children's ministry donations in the pews.
Children's Sunday School at 9:45 Am

Welcome to DiscipleLand! I'm so glad to have your child join our class as we explore Family Life with God! Your child will discover how Bible families lived: the way they did chores, how their homes looked, what they ate and wore, and much more. We'll also find that we share many similarities with Bible-times people.
The most important truths we will discover are about our wonderful God. Through this quarter your child will learn some of God's characteristics and attributes: His forgiveness and generosity, His names such as the Creator and Lord, and most important—that Jesus is our Savior.
You'll also see your child develop the skill of how to show respect to others. We're reinforcing the same values you're teaching at home, such as learning to say "please" and "thank you," good grooming habits, being better listeners, and showing respect.
Please consider me your partner as you disciple your child spiritually. Each week, extend your child's learning by asking him or her about the lesson, reinforcing the disciple skills being taught, reviewing the memory verse together, and reading portions of Mark's Gospel. Please contact me about ways you can help in class and at home. Our class welcomes your involvement in praying for us, praising your child for his or her accomplishments, and volunteering to help.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach and encourage your child. Please let me know how I can pray for your family or answer any questions. Together let’s build your child into a growing disciple of Jesus.
Children's Church at 11:45 am

Get ready! Your child is about to embark on a spiritual journey of jungle-like proportions! With Carlos on hand to offer guidance and answer questions, your young disciple will join Dee, Cy, Paul, and friends in My Jungle Adventure. Along the way he or she will discover the meaning of abiding in the Vine and growing spiritual fruit.
As your child begins this adventure, be involved as much as possible. Pray for your child about his walk with God and the emergence of spiritual fruit in her life. Take time to discuss each lesson. Talk about what your child learned. Quiz her on memory work; affirm him when he applies lessons to his life. Look for evidence of the Spirit’s growth in your child’s character, and praise God for His faithfulness.
Encourage your child to be honest about his or her thoughts, ideas, and questions. What a great opportunity to help your child understand that apart from Christ, we can do nothing!
Each lesson introduces a fundamental concept about spiritual fruit or explains the nature of each fruit of the Spirit. As your child learns about these, remind him or her that the source of all goodness is Jesus, the true Vine. Make the most of this opportunity, and you will see fruit for years to come!
